GENERAL DESCRIPTION
You will be responsible for assessing the metocean and wind conditions of our future offshore wind farms all over the world oceans. You will work on the development of wind offshore projects, from the very early stage, throughout the design and the final energy yield prediction towards FID.
Some of your key responsibilities would include the design and monitoring of the metocean measurement campaigns on site, the detailed analysis of the site conditions, the optimization of the wind turbine layout and the energy yield assessment.
Other keys elements of the role involve the technical management of Procurement process like the metocean campaigns and external third-party analysis.
Finally, the role will provide technical support to the rest of areas within the company in all weather and metocean related topics.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Designing the right wind & metocean campaign at each site under development accordingly to the company’s pipeline and project’s budget.
- Actively engagement in the Procurement process of the wind & metocean campaign (Scope of Work, contract supervision and technical assessment).
- Monitoring of the wind & metocean campaign to ensure a high quality of all observed parameters.
- Deep analysis of the observed on site conditions.
- Work on the relationship with reference long term hindcast sources and provide meteocean data for the Basis of Design according to the objectives and requirements of the projects.
- Defining and optimizing the WTG layout according to the objectives and requirements of the projects and the site conditions.
- Annual energy yield prediction, with special emphasis in the definition of the long term wind resource, wake modelling analysis, turbulence intensity estimate and overal energy losses.
- Provide support to the project during the WTG selection (site suitability study, TSA, SMA), certification, O&M, Transport , Installation and Constructions strategies
- Actively engagement in the power curve verification process. Support during the negotiation phase and provide detailed design of the campaign.
- Deep analysis of wind farm operational data for energy yield assessment verification purposes.
